BalanceTalonite® is hot rolled and then age hardened. The age-hardening after hot rolling provides the maximum hardness and wear resistance. The hardness is about Rc 42-46. This alloy has better ductility than Stellite 6K. Another property is high lubricity. Applications include; steam turbine erosion shields, chain saw guide bars, high temperature bearings, furnace fan blades, valve stems, needle valves, centrifuge liners, hot extrusion dies, forming dies, nozzles, extruder screws, & food processing equipment. The F.D.A. has approved Talonite for use in food contact due to low metal loss.

BalanceStellite 6B is a cobalt-base alloy recommended for handling extreme conditions of wear, abrasion, and heat. It is non-galling, and has a low coefficient of friction. It retains high hardness at high temperatures, and recovers full hardness after exposure to temperatures up to 2000F. Stellite 6B has excellent resistance to oxidation and corrosion, as well as thermal Shock and heat checking. Stellite 6K

BalanceA cobalt-based alloy with outstanding resistance to most types of wear. The wear resistance is "built-in" characteristic and not the result of heat-treatment, plating, nitriding or other methods used to produce hardness on metal parts. High temperatures have little effect on the hardness, toughness or dimensional stability of 6K. It is resistant to atmospheric oxidation at both low and elevated temperature; outstanding in severe conditions of wear combined with corrosion and/or high temperature. 6K has greater abrasion resistance and lower ductility than 6B.
