Carpenter describes CTS-XHP as "A high hardness 440C or a corrosion resistant D2." I've heard good reports about this steel and I'm looking forward to testing it.

Heat Treating Information:

Austenitize: Ramp to temperature and hold for 25 minutes. Oil or plate or air quench to room temperature.

Cryogenic Treating: Cool to -100°F for 1 hour. Air warm to room temperature.

Temper: Temper after cyro or quench for a minimum of 1 hour. Use the table below to find desired hardness.
