On-line forums are a good place to meet knifemakers and collectors.

Some forums are private and require registration before you can participate. Other forums are open and you read all you want but must register to write comments. The open forums are bigger. The private forums are more moderated. The moderators quickly remove people who cause trouble.

The forums help collectors by learning about up coming knifemakers, new materials, new processes, etc. You can also sometimes locate rare knives for sale by knifemaker and/or collectors.

The forums help knifemakers by providing a place where collectors can see your work. If you are thick skinned you can even ask the collectors to critique your work. By actively participating a knifemaker can greatly shorten the time required to "Get Noticed" by collectors.
