Our pivots are machined to very tight tolerances of \u00b1 .0002″<\/b><\/p>\n

This pivot is made from 416 stainless steel<\/b> and heat treated full hard<\/b> to approximately HRC 42. All our pivots are professionally heat treated in a vacuum furnace. This leaves the pivots with a shiny surface.<\/p>\n

The pivot threads are machined from one end all the way through. You can shorten the pivot from either end and not have a problem with the internal threads.
\nReam the blade pivot hole and liners with a .1250″ reamer. The blade will move freely on the pivot shaft. If you are not using a reamer, buy one. You will never achieve tight tolerances using only a drill bit to make your pivot holes.<\/p>\n

The screws are 2-56. The high number of threads make it easy to adjust the blade tension.<\/p>\n
