Our pivots are machined to very tight tolerances of ± .0002″

This pivot is made from 416 stainless steel and heat treated full hard to approximately HRC 42. All our pivots are professionally heat treated in a vacuum furnace. This leaves the pivots with a shiny surface.

The pivot threads are machined from one end all the way through. You can shorten the pivot from either end and not have a problem with the internal threads.
Ream the blade pivot hole and liners with a .1250″ reamer. The blade will move freely on the pivot shaft. If you are not using a reamer, buy one. You will never achieve tight tolerances using only a drill bit to make your pivot holes.

The screws are 2-56. The high number of threads make it easy to adjust the blade tension.
