Our pivots are machined to very tight tolerances of ± .0002″

These pivots are made from 416 stainless steel and heat treated full hard to approximately HRC 42. All our pivots are professionally heat treated in a vacuum furnace. This leaves the pivots with a shiny surface.

Ream the blade pivot hole and liners with a .1875″ reamer. The blade will move freely on the pivot shaft. The raised area on the pivot shaft next to the head will press fit into the liner and prevent the pivot from spinning when adjusting the blade tension. If you are not using a reamer, buy one. You will never achieve tight tolerances using only a drill bit to make your pivot holes.
