.250″ Barrel Pivot, 416 SS

Our pivots are machined to very tight tolerances of ± .0002″
This pivot is made from 17-4 stainless steel and heat treated full hard to approximately HRC 42. All our pivots are professionally heat treated in a vacuum furnace. This leaves the pivots with a shiny surface.

Ream the blade pivot hole and liners with a .2500″ reamer. The blade will move freely on the pivot shaft. The raised area on the pivot shaft next to the head will press fit into the liner and prevent the pivot from spinning when adjusting the blade tension. If you are not using a reamer, buy one. You will never achieve tight tolerances using only a drill bit to make your pivot holes.

The screw is #8 with 64 threads per inch. The high number of threads make it easy to adjust the blade tension. The thread is non-standard.
